Flower City Friends Club Celebrates Mother’s Day with Enthusiasm and Unity

Brampton, May 4, 2025 – The Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) hosted a heartfelt and joyous Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Paul Pallecshi Recreation Centre. Over 150 members gathered to honour and celebrate the unconditional love, sacrifices, and strength of mothers.

The event began with a warm welcome from FCFC Chairperson Gian Paul, who highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating the pivotal role mothers play in shaping families and communities.

The Chief Guest of the event, Amandeep Sodhi, the newly elected Member of Parliament from Brampton Centre and the youngest MP in the House of Commons, delivered an inspiring address. “This celebration is not just about our mothers but about the values, discipline, and resilience they instill in us. I am proud to be part of a community that honours its roots and respects the contributions of women,” she shared.

Amarjot Sandhu, MPP for Brampton West, inaugurated the celebration with a moving tribute to mothers and spoke about the Ontario government’s ongoing initiatives to support and uplift women across the province.

Regional Councillors Rowena Santos and Paul Vicente (Wards 1 & 5) also attended the event, sharing their admiration for FCFC’s efforts to promote inclusivity and cultural vibrancy. “Motherhood is the heartbeat of our homes and communities,” said Councillor Santos. Councillor Vicente added, “The strength of our society lies in how we honour those who nurture and uplift us.”

The celebration featured heartfelt poems, vibrant dance performances, soul-stirring songs, and speeches by members, all centered around the theme of motherhood.

Charanjit Dhillon, a dedicated member of FCFC, expressed, “Events like this remind us of the deep connections we share and the gratitude we owe to our mothers every day.”

Devinder Tathgur, a founding member of FCFC, remarked, “We started this club to bring people together, and today’s celebration shows how beautifully we’ve grown as a community rooted in love and respect.”

Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner following the performances, and the joyful atmosphere left everyone with lasting memories.

In his closing remarks, Gian Paul thanked all the guests, volunteers, and members for making the event a grand success. “The energy, love, and respect displayed today is a reflection of our commitment to building a caring and connected community. Happy Mother’s Day to all!”
