Flower City Friends Club Celebrates Nach Baliye – Tiyan Da Mela

Brampton, ON – The Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) hosted a vibrant entertainment evening, Nach Baliye Tiyan Da Mela, which brought together over 100 senior members in a celebration of culture, joy, and unity. The event was held on Aug 17, 2025 at Paul Palleschi Recreation Center, Brampton.

Chairperson Gian Paul warmly welcomed members and highlighted the importance of such gatherings. “Events like Tiyan Da Mela not only preserve our cultural heritage but also bring happiness and a sense of belonging to our seniors,” he shared.

The evening was filled with colorful performances, laughter, and music. Dressed in traditional attire, men and women lit up the venue with their enthusiasm. Joyti, as the Master of Ceremonies, kept the audience engaged and “rocked the stage” with her energy. She shared, “It was an honor to host such a lively event. The enthusiasm of our seniors inspired me every step of the way.”

The program featured soulful songs, solo performances, lively skits, and interactive games. One of the highlights was a captivating skit presented by Pushpinder Kaur, which proved to be the main attraction of the evening. A fashion show and couple dances added elegance and fun, while Avtar Brar’s energetic performance struck the heart of the audience and stole the show. He remarked, “Performing for our seniors is my passion. Their smiles and applause mean everything to me—it keeps our community spirit alive.”

Senior member Renu Sodhi expressed her joy, saying, “I felt so happy and proud to be part of this wonderful evening. These programs bring us together, keep us active, and make us feel valued as members of the community.”

The evening’s chief guest, Ruby Sahota, MP, praised the initiative. “Tiyan Da Mela is a beautiful reflection of our traditions. Gatherings like these play an important role in strengthening community bonds and keeping our cultural roots alive,” she said.

Members enjoyed not just the entertainment but also good food, laughter, and the warmth of fellowship. In his closing remarks, Jaswinder Daind, President of FCFC, thanked everyone for making the evening a grand success and extended gratitude to all the organizers, volunteers, and performers.

The Nach Baliye Tiyan Da Mela was truly a memorable evening of tradition, fun, and togetherness for the seniors of Brampton.
